Error codeE7
ApplianceFreezer
What E7 flags
Something on the control panel looks pressed in: the freezer sees a stuck button, held longer than 30 seconds. Codes made of the letter E and a digit are used by many electronic upright freezer controls, and E7 is among them.
The power reset
The one check GE lists is to cut the freezer’s power for half a minute and then plug it back in.
E codes with other causes
The same controls report E8 for a shorted thermistor and E9 for an open thermistor. Neither one has anything to do with a pressed button.
Freezer service in San Francisco
When E7 returns after the power reset, call (415) 729-2045 about freezer repair for a GE upright in San Francisco or the Bay Area. Have the model number ready and mention that you cycled the power.
Model compatibility: GE reuses codes across series and model years, so E7 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
