About Our GE Appliance Repair Service
How a repair starts with us
Every job begins with the label on your appliance. Before anyone talks about parts or schedules, we ask for the model and serial number, because a GE top-freezer refrigerator, a front-load washer and a gas dryer have almost nothing in common once the panel comes off. The model number tells us which product we are dealing with, and the symptom tells us where to look first. If you are not sure where the label sits, our guide to finding your GE model number walks through the usual spots.
Diagnosis, written estimate, your decision
We diagnose the appliance in your home before any repair is proposed. After that you receive a written estimate that names the problem we found and the work needed to fix it. Nothing gets repaired until you approve that estimate. If you decide to wait, compare options or replace the unit, that is a reasonable outcome, and our note on repairing or replacing a GE appliance lays out the questions worth asking.
The eleven product families we cover
The site is built around GE and GE Profile appliances found in Bay Area homes. That means refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, wine coolers and beverage centers, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ranges and cooktops, wall ovens, microwaves and range hoods. The full list with descriptions sits on our services page.
Where we work
We serve San Francisco and the wider Bay Area, from the Peninsula and the South Bay through Oakland and the East Bay to Marin, Napa and Sonoma. A flat in the Marina, a hillside house in Berkeley and a newer home in Pleasanton all raise different practical questions, such as stairs, parking, building rules for condos and where the washer actually sits. Browse the areas we serve to find your neighborhood or town.
What to expect at a visit
You will get a confirmed window, and we will look at the symptom with you present. Please have the appliance reachable, clear the area around it, and keep any error code on the display until we arrive. We check the obvious outside items first, such as power, water supply and venting, then work inward toward the cause. You see the finding explained in plain language before the estimate is written, and the decision stays with you.
How our guides are written
The guides, code pages and model pages on this site are written for owners who want a clear picture before they call. We rely on published GE model-number conventions and support information for the codes and product types we describe, and we leave out anything we cannot back up. Advice for owners stays on the outside of the appliance: breakers, filters, hoses, door seals and codes on the display. Anything that involves opening a panel, gas fittings or sealed refrigeration is described as a job for a technician. You can start with the appliance guides, the error codes page or the blog.
