Why no cycle will start
Three cycles were started and the lid was never lifted in between. Until it is opened, the washer refuses to begin another one. The word Lid or the Lid Locked light can show.
Restart
Raise the lid.
Close it.
Start a new cycle.
GE gives this for 2017 and newer electronic control washers. If the trouble persists, contact service, and check the Owner’s Manual for the messages your model can show.
Do not confuse with
dE says the lid is open, which is a different message.
If the washer stays locked after the lid has been opened and closed, call (415) 729-2045 about GE washer repair in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Mention what you tried and the model number. The washer repair page gives an overview.
Model compatibility: GE reuses codes across series and model years, so Lid may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
