CC: the temperature is off
The refrigerator temperature is not right when CC displays. GE’s first instruction is to check the temperature controls.
Steps
Examine the temperature controls and make sure they are set as intended.
If the code remains, unplug the refrigerator for a minute or two. A code on the dispenser control panel can sometimes be cleared this way by resetting the panel.
If it returns
GE says some cases need service to fix the concern, so a CC that keeps coming back should be looked at.
When CC will not clear on a GE refrigerator in San Francisco, call (415) 729-2045. Note the model number and the control settings you changed. See refrigerator repair for background.
Model compatibility: GE reuses codes across series and model years, so CC may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
CC means the temperature in the refrigerator compartment is incorrect.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
