Sensor codes on a stainless GE front-control dishwasher look alarming, but they have specific meanings and a limited set of owner checks.
Most owners never think about the sensors in the GDF535PSRSS until a message appears. The model is a GE front-control dishwasher (GDF) with a stainless finish (SS) and a feature level of 535; GE lists it as current, and we have no verified size or cycle list for it. What matters here is the code and what GE says it means.
Telling C6 from C7 saves time. One says the water arriving is cold; the other says the machine cannot read temperature. A fresh pot of hot water at the tap will not cure C7.
A power reset gives the control a clean start and clears a transient fault. If PrS or C7 returns on the next cycle, it is real, and repeated resets only add wear to a machine that may start and cancel in a loop. Try one reset, then stop.
If you also see a puddle, stop and read water on the floor in front of a GE dishwasher. A leak and a sensor message together call for a visit rather than another test run.
A photo of the display and of the model label inside the door or tub edge, the date the code first appeared, and whether the kitchen has had power surges. For a San Francisco condo, confirm any building contact before we shut off water at the shared riser. We write a clear estimate and do nothing until you tell us to. Read GE Dishwasher Repair or the GE Dishwashers guide for general background, or compare against the models library.

GE recommends service for it. A single breaker reset is harmless, but the cause is inside the dishwasher.
No. The SS finish code only describes the exterior.
Neither is an emergency. C6 usually means the incoming water is cool; C7 means the machine cannot read its temperature circuit.
Only the finish letters are reliable here, so check the full model number on the label for the rest.
